Labor Law

State and Federal Court Litigation
Our firm’s attorneys appear in state and federal courts to handle a wide variety of labor relations, employment law and the many other issues encountered by labor organizations. We bring and defend lawsuits for our union clients and have extensive experience with issues such as the duty of fair representation, preemption, union governance, compliance with arbitration awards, discrimination, retirement and benefit claims, freedom of speech, Employers’ failure to deduct union dues, jurisdictional disputes, breach of contract, and more.
Arbitration
Peer, Gan & Gisler’s attorneys advocate before arbitrators on behalf of unions and their members in disciplinary and contractual matters across the country.  We bring our extensive experience to all aspects of the arbitration process including vetting arbitrators, negotiating settlements, preparing witnesses and evidence, presenting the case, and submitting briefs. Our attorneys also represent unions in interest arbitration and assist labor organizations with developing and implementing processes to review grievances and determine their likelihood of success in arbitration.
Contract Negotiations
Our attorneys represent local and national labor organizations in preparing for contract negotiations and at the bargaining table.  From simply providing counsel to the negotiation team to actively negotiating collective bargaining agreements, we bring a wealth of bargaining experience and a determination to obtain the best possible contract for our union clients.
National Labor Relations Board Proceedings
Peer, Gan & Gisler LLP maintains an active practice representing clients in National Labor Relations Board (“NLRB”) proceedings.  We file and defend against unfair labor practice charges, handle representation cases and advise union clients on organizing campaigns, argue cases before Administrative Judges, and handle all aspects of appeals.  Our Attorneys have handled NLRB cases in almost every region of the country.
Other Administrative Proceedings
